AWS have provided their recognition of the higher Nationals in Cloud Computing, which have been broadly aligned to job roles at AWS as outlined below:
- HNC Level 4: Cloud Support Associate.
- HND Level 5 (Cloud Support pathway): Cloud Support Engineer.
- HND Level 5 (Cloud Cyber Security pathway): Cyber Security Specialist.
- HND Level 5 (Cloud Software Development pathway): Software Development Engineer.
AWS Certification
Upon completion of the Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC), students will be suitably prepared to attempt the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam, although it is recommended that students have six months of fundamental AWS Cloud and industry knowledge before taking the exam.
All three of the Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) pathways include foundational content which can help students to partially prepare for both the AWS Certified Solutions Architect and the AWS Certified Developer exams at Associate Level, with the Software Development pathway offering the most coverage in content in preparation for the latter.

We work with universities in the UK and around the world, explaining the content, structure and purpose of BTEC Higher National qualifications, so that the universities recognise your value and accept applications from you as a BTEC Higher National holder onto a degree programme.
