BTEC Higher Nationals in Sport (RQF)

The development of the sports sector have been significant with a variety of factors impacting on the industry including new technologies, growth in sporting activities, globalisation and of course, the ageing of the population. This has led to more investment in the sector from governments, which has seen more of an active participation in sports by the general population and therefore employment in the sector has increased.

These qualifications are designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education pathways at Levels 4 and 5, thereby providing students with a clear line of sight to employment or to progression to a degree at Level 6.

Pathways within this qualification

To help our you develop in your chosen specialism, there are a number of pathways, some of which are listed below:

  • Sport (General)

Please note this is a combination of pathways at both BTEC HNC and HND level. Colleges we work with may choose to deliver a selection of pathways which is why we suggest that you consult with your local college regarding exact options available to you.

Outdoor Adventure Instructor; field Studies Officer; Sports Coaching; Health Promotion; Corporate Sports Hospitality; Outreach Work; Sports Entrepreneurship; Armed forces and Police. Adventure Tourism Manager; Environmental Education; Youth Development Officers; Sports Development; Health and fitness Management; Sports facility Management; Sports Event Management; PE teaching (via a PGCE).
